I’m standing by you……..

The smell of gasoline when I’m filling up the car.

I love the, zip yourself up in emotion rainy days of fall. New leather school shoe smell in the air and the buzzing excitement of the back-to-school college students in the neighborhood. Parks empty and gardens get ignored as attention shifts to the approaching fall into winter.

Warm air blowing through my hair, bike paths newly discovered. Following the ice cream truck down a quiet tree lined street….remembering the strawberrry eclair I habitually used to get from the Good Humor man in Chicago. Root Beer popsicles in the freezer at home and a sink full of freshly washed grapes and cherries. Mom watching me shoot baskets in the backyard from the kitchen window. Wonder now what she was thinking.

How I see. I must be pretty annoying to hang with. I look at everything like a work of art. Like a kid in a candy store I see shapes, color and relationships everywhere. I take 300 pictures a week. To me it’s like painting. Painting with my camera.

How wonderful it is to be able to drive along the city lakes on a warm breezy beautiful fall day. Not a cloud in the sky. I love the sound and smell of the leaves sweeping along the ground.
